ICE SKATING STATUS - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2 - CLOSED. As of this morning there was an inch of ice on the lake. Since we need to have four inches or more of ice to allow folks on the ice, we need to add an additional three inches of ice tonight and tomorrow night in order to be skating on Saturday. Given that temps will be in the teens tonight and near zero tomorrow night this is possible. However, we will not know for sure until Saturday morning. We will be posting tomorrow morning and again on Saturday so stay tuned. UNTIL THEN WE URGE EVERYONE TO STAY OFF THE ICE. ... See MoreSee Less

ICE SKATING STATUS - TUESDAY JANUARY 31 - CLOSED - REOPENING FEBRUARY 4 or 5? The good news is that temperatures will be plunging this week reaching below zero on Friday night. The bad news is that, as of this past Sunday, most of the lake was clear of ice so we have got to make a lot of ice between now and Saturday. Below zero temperatures on Friday night will certainly help.We will be monitoring ice thickness closely and will allow folks on the lake as soon as it is safe. In the meantime we would urge everyone to obey the posted signs to STAY OFF THE ICE until we officially open the ice.
Looking further ahead, temperatures will be significantly moderating as of next week and it is possible that this weekend could be the one and only weekend for skating on the lake this winter. ... See MoreSee Less

ICE SKATING STATUS - SUNDAY, JANUARY 22. - CLOSED - Warm weather continues to prevent us from skating. Although we had hoped to be skating by next weekend, this is looking increasingly unlikely. On the positive side, temperatures are predicted to be below freezing the entire week of January 30 so things look promising for skating the weekend of Feb 4-5 (provided we can recover the ice surface after this weeks storms).Stay tuned.…. ... ICE SKATING STATUS - JANUARY 18, 2023 - CLOSED - We remain in a holding pattern as we await colder temperatures that will refreeze the lake and allow us to resume skating. Based upon the latest mid-range weather forecast, it is possible that we could be skating again over the weekend January 28 & 29. However there are a couple of storms predicted between now and then which could degrade the ice surface so we will need to take things day by day with the hope that we can be skating again in time for the Clarks Summit Ice Festival. ...
